As a world wide organisation
ISACA® is both committed to, and supported by, its membership.
ISACA members are the heart and soul of the Association. It was
through the efforts of a few visionary EDP audit professionals in
the 1960’s, who saw the need to assist and support each other, that
the Association was born.
ISACA (or the EDP Auditors Association as it was called
then) has grown from those humble beginnings to become an affiliation
of like minded professionals recognised and respected worldwide
as a leader in IT governance, assurance and security. Through the
many services that the Association provides to its members, it is
rapidly becoming an authoritative and powerful advocate for those
within the IT assurance and security profession.

Another of ISACA’s strengths is its chapter network.
ISACA has more than 170 chapters worldwide with members from over
140 countries, and those chapters provide members education, resource
sharing, advocacy, professional networking and regular professional
development sessions held in Adelaide.
In the four decades since its inception, ISACA has become a pace-setting
global organization for information governance, control, security
and audit professionals. Its IS auditing and IS control standards
are followed by practitioners worldwide. Its research pinpoints
professional issues challenging its constituents. Its Certified
Information Systems Auditor (CISA® ) certification is recognized
globally and has been earned by more than 65,000 professionals since
inception. The Certified Information Security Manager (CISM®
) certification uniquely targets the information security management
audience and has been earned by more than 7,000 professionals. ISACA's
latest IT Governance certification (CGEIT®) is intended to recognize
a wide range of professionals for their knowledge and application
of IT governance principles and practices. It is designed for professionals
who have management, advisory, or assurance responsibilities as
defined by a "job practice" consisting of IT governance
related tasks and knowledge.
ISACA publishes a leading technical journal in the information
control field, the Information Systems Control Journal. It hosts
a series of international conferences focusing on both technical
and managerial topics pertinent to the IS assurance, control, security
and IT governance professions. Together, ISACA and its affiliated
IT Governance Institute lead the information technology control
community and serve its practitioners by providing the elements
needed by IT professionals in an ever-changing worldwide environment.
ISACA also provides access to many specialist publications
covering the information technology field. Many of these publications
are a result of research that ISACA has undertaken, either on its
own or in partnership with other organisations. Browse

The Adelaide Chapter is an active and vibrant component
of the wider ISACA family. The Chapter Board is committed to provide
quality and value adding services to its local membership. Through
its CISA and CISM support programs, award winning Newsletter, and
educational technical presentations and seminars, the Chapter is
endeavouring to increase benefits to members in addition to those
accrued through membership to the international Association.
Although we are one of the smaller Chapters in ISACA,
Adelaide has consistently provided support to the Association at
the local, national and international level. Local members benefit
through this involvement in a number of ways. Their views and needs
are more easily represented to ISACA’s governing body and because
of our involvement are more likely to carry weight where it counts.
The Board of the Adelaide
Chapter is focussed on providing the very best levels of service
to local members and through involvement with key ISACA boards and
committees globally, to the wider IT assurance and security profession.
Currently Adelaide members are involved with a number of major research
projects, sit on key boards and committees and are supporting ongoing
education and research through the provision of educational awards
and through financial support for the IT Governance Institute. Speak
to any of our board members who will be happy to share all the activities
we participate in at a global level through our chapter member's
involvement.
